With more than 35 years of leadership experience across industrial manufacturing, energy, real estate, business consulting, and multinational operations, Dr. Eng. Mohamed Youssef Zein has established himself as a transformational executive shaping sustainable industrial growth in the region.
Currently serving as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Alamal Alsharif Plastics, Dr. Mohamed Zein leads one of Egypt’s most established industrial companies, driving its transformation from a traditional manufacturer into an integrated engineering solutions platform serving infrastructure, water, gas, telecommunications, agriculture, and real estate development sectors.

Holding a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Ain Shams University alongside a Doctorate in Business Administration, Dr. Zein combines technical engineering expertise with strategic business leadership. His career includes over 17 years with multinational energy leaders Shell and Esso, where he held multiple regional and executive leadership roles across the Middle East and Central Asia.
Under Dr. Mohamed Zein’s leadership, Alamal Alsharif Plastics has evolved beyond manufacturing products into delivering comprehensive engineering systems and integrated piping solutions.
The company’s portfolio today includes PE, PVC, CPVC, PPR, and PPH piping systems, in addition to fittings, insulation materials, adhesives, and complementary infrastructure products designed to support large-scale national and regional projects.
This transformation reflects a strategic shift from product-focused manufacturing toward customer-centric engineering solutions that prioritize reliability, operational efficiency, technical integration, and long-term value creation.
“The future of manufacturing belongs to companies that do not only make products, but solve problems.”
Dr. Mohamed Zein has led a comprehensive restructuring journey focused on governance, operational excellence, organizational alignment, digital transformation, talent development, and strategic market expansion. The company achieved approximately EGP 6 billion in sales in 2023, alongside strong profitability growth and continued regional expansion.

A defining element of Dr. Mohamed Zein’s leadership philosophy is his belief that sustainable growth is built through institutional capability, not short-term financial performance alone.
At Alamal Alsharif Plastics, this philosophy is reflected through strengthened governance frameworks, international certifications, operational discipline, digital systems implementation, and human capital development initiatives.
The company currently operates across an industrial footprint exceeding 200,000 square meters, with annual production surpassing 70,000 tons and a portfolio of more than 2,500 products serving local and regional markets.

Dr. Mohamed Zein has also prioritized digital transformation through ERP systems, CRM integration, smart factory initiatives, cybersecurity infrastructure, and advanced operational planning systems that enhance efficiency, visibility, and decision-making capabilities.
“Factories are built with machines, but companies are built with people.”
His leadership extends beyond operations into organizational culture, where leadership, collaboration, responsibility, quality, and agility are positioned as core drivers of institutional success.
Today, Alamal Alsharif Plastics exports nearly 30% of its annual production while actively expanding across Middle Eastern and African markets, including Iraq, Libya, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Oman.
The company’s long-term 2032 strategy aims to position Alamal Alsharif Plastics as a leading regional provider of integrated and sustainable engineering solutions, supported by ambitious growth targets, operational excellence, and continued innovation.

Innovation under Dr. Mohamed Zein’s leadership focuses on practical industrial advancement — including localized manufacturing, material optimization, recycling initiatives, sustainability practices, export-ready product development, and operational efficiency improvements.
“Legacy is not what a company preserves; it is what a company renews.”
Beyond his executive responsibilities, Dr. Mohamed Zein is a certified leadership and business coach accredited by the International Coach Federation and has served as a Board Member of the ICF Egypt Chapter since 2017.
He is also a member of the Sales Management Association, reinforcing his commitment to continuous leadership development, organizational transformation, and professional excellence.

The CEO Network proudly recognizes Dr. Eng. Mohamed Zein for his outstanding leadership in industrial transformation, strategic growth, and integrated engineering solutions. Through decades of executive experience, institutional leadership, and forward-thinking innovation, he continues to build a sustainable industrial legacy that contributes to infrastructure advancement, operational excellence, and long-term economic development across the region.
