Before leading the Digital Government Authority, he served as Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of the National Center for Government Resources Systems (NCGR), helping modernize government resource management and digital capabilities.

Earlier, as Deputy Minister for Technology and Development at the Ministry of Finance, he led major technology initiatives supporting financial modernization, institutional efficiency, and digital government services.

His private-sector leadership includes more than a decade at Mobily, where he served as Vice President of Applications Development & Planning, overseeing large-scale enterprise technology and digital transformation initiatives.

Leadership Across National Institutions

Beyond his executive responsibilities, Ahmed contributes to Saudi Arabia’s digital ecosystem through numerous strategic board and executive committee roles.

His governance portfolio includes the National Center for Government Resources Systems (NCGR), Saudi Business Center, National eLearning Center, and the National Digital Transformation Unit. He has also previously served on the boards of the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP), King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), SIDF, Tabadul, and the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation.

These appointments reflect his broad influence in shaping policies, governance frameworks, digital innovation, and institutional collaboration across the Kingdom.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) and further strengthened his leadership capabilities through executive programs at London Business School, MIT Sloan School of Management, Ashridge Executive Education (Hult International Business School), and Ivey Business School.
