Afnan Albalooshi: Transforming HR Into a Strategic Driver of Organizational Effectiveness

Afnan Albalooshi is an HR and organizational effectiveness professional with more than 15 years of experience across Bahrain and the GCC. Through strategic HR partnerships, organizational development, and transformation initiatives, she helps organizations strengthen people capabilities and connect HR with broader business priorities.

Advancing Strategic HR

As Principal Consultant at Afnan Al Balooshi Consultancy, Albalooshi works with organizations to strengthen HR functions, develop HR teams, and address organizational and people-related challenges. Her practice focuses on three areas: strategic HR partnerships, organizational effectiveness programs, and OD and transformation projects.

Her approach begins with understanding an organization’s needs before developing practical solutions aligned with its objectives, capabilities, culture, and performance requirements.

Developing Leaders and Professionals

Learning and development remain part of Albalooshi’s broader HR practice. She delivers CIPD Level 3 and Level 5 programs in Arabic and English and serves as a CIPD Trainer and Assessor, supporting learners through professional qualification and development.

She has also designed workforce development programs for job seekers and women entrepreneurs, including leadership and employment workshops aligned with national strategy.

Supporting Women’s Entrepreneurship

Albalooshi previously led the Khatwa Home-Based Business Development and Training Center at Bahrain’s Ministry of Social Development for more than 12 years.

Her responsibilities included managing the center, identifying development needs, designing training and mentoring initiatives, and supporting women entrepreneurs in building sustainable businesses and strengthening their economic participation.

A Career in Organizational Development

Her earlier experience includes founding and managing Positivia Training & Coaching, where she delivered professional development, coaching, and capability-building programs for individuals, entrepreneurs, and organizations.

Across her career, Albalooshi has consistently focused on connecting people development, leadership, organizational culture, and business effectiveness.

With an MBA in Leadership Transformation & Learning and Development from York St John University, with research focusing largely on workplace behaviour and its impact on organisations, CIPD qualifications, and certifications in transformational leadership and career development coaching, she continues to support organizations across Bahrain and the GCC in developing stronger HR functions and more capable workplaces.
