Markets evolve, industries mature, and consumer expectations continue to shift. In this environment, organisations that sustain long-term success are rarely those that simply respond to change. They are the ones led by executives who anticipate it, reshape their businesses accordingly, and build cultures capable of thriving in uncertainty. Mohammed Al Shuhail has spent his career leading organisations through precisely that kind of transformation.
Today, as Chief Executive Officer of CATRION Catering Holding Company, Al Shuhail brings together decades of leadership across consumer goods, food services, agriculture, investment, and international business. His journey reflects more than operational success. It represents a consistent ability to strengthen organisations, unlock growth opportunities, and create lasting shareholder value across diverse markets.
While many executives build their careers within a single sector, Al Shuhail has developed a broader perspective by leading businesses that operate across different industries, customer segments, and international markets.
From fast-moving consumer goods and dairy to agriculture, investment, and now aviation catering and hospitality services, each chapter has strengthened his understanding of how organisations create sustainable competitive advantage.
His leadership philosophy has remained consistent throughout this journey: strong businesses are built through clear strategy, disciplined execution, capable people, and the willingness to continuously evolve.
“Transformation begins with a clear vision, but it succeeds through disciplined execution.”
Throughout his executive career, Mohammed Al Shuhail has repeatedly been entrusted with leading organisations during periods of strategic change.
Whether developing long-term business strategies, improving operational performance, or guiding organisational transformation, his focus has consistently been on creating businesses that are stronger, more resilient, and better prepared for future opportunities.
His experience spans both business-to-business and business-to-consumer operations across the GCC, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, providing him with an international perspective on leadership while maintaining a deep understanding of regional markets.
Before joining CATRION, Al Shuhail held several senior leadership roles within Almarai, one of the Middle East’s largest food and beverage companies.
As Executive Vice President of Foodservice, he oversaw multiple companies and brands across the GCC, leading operations that served both commercial and institutional customers. Earlier, as Chief Executive Officer of the International Pediatric Nutrition Company, he guided a specialised healthcare business while contributing to broader organisational growth initiatives.
His earlier leadership at Al Safi Danone further demonstrated his ability to deliver transformational change. As Chief Executive Officer of Al Safi Dairy Company, he led the development of a five-year strategic plan, strengthened financial performance despite challenging market conditions, expanded customer and product portfolios, supported merger and acquisition initiatives, and oversaw major investments in production infrastructure that improved operational efficiency and long-term competitiveness.
These achievements reflect a leadership approach centred on balancing commercial growth with operational excellence.
Business transformation is often associated with strategy and financial performance, but Al Shuhail has consistently recognised that lasting success depends on people.
Earlier in his career, he led human resources, legal affairs, and public relations across Al Safi Danone’s operations, overseeing functions that supported thousands of employees while driving organisational change and strengthening corporate partnerships. This experience reinforced his belief that culture, leadership development, and organisational capability are fundamental to long-term business success.
His leadership continues to emphasise:
By integrating these priorities, he has helped organisations navigate change while remaining focused on long-term performance.
Alongside his executive responsibilities, Al Shuhail serves on the boards of several companies across different sectors, contributing to governance, strategic oversight, and business development beyond his executive role.
These appointments reflect the confidence placed in his ability to guide organisations through complex strategic decisions while supporting sustainable growth and effective corporate governance.
His academic foundation further complements his leadership journey, combining a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals with an Executive MBA from London Business School and executive education programmes at Harvard Business School in finance, negotiation, and entrepreneurship.
“Leadership is not measured by the scale of the organisation you manage, but by the lasting value you create for its people, customers, and stakeholders.”
The Arab CEOs proudly recognises Mohammed Al Shuhail for his contributions to executive leadership, organisational transformation, and strategic business growth across the Middle East. Through his leadership across consumer goods, food services, agriculture, and investment, he continues to demonstrate how clear vision, operational discipline, and people-centred leadership can build stronger organisations and create sustainable value across industries.
