Karim Khedr: Leading PepsiCo Egypt Through Growth, Innovation, and Operational Excellence

Leading PepsiCo Egypt

Since January 2025, Karim Khedr has served as CEO and Chairman of PepsiCo Egypt, leading the business and its teams in one of the region’s competitive markets.

His leadership approach focuses on balancing innovation with operational excellence while developing agile business solutions capable of responding to changing market environments.

A Regional Leadership Journey

Before taking his current role, Karim served as General Manager & VP for PepsiCo’s Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Jordan cluster from 2021 to 2024. Earlier, he was Vice President for Beverages in Southeast Asia, overseeing the beverage agenda across diverse markets and a complex bottling network spanning Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Pacific Isles.

During this period, he focused on growth, market share, P&L profitability, bottling-partner relationships, and portfolio development, while also advancing plastics sustainability initiatives.

Building New Business Models

As Senior Sales Director for Sales & New Business Development in MENA, Karim focused on future-proofing the business through new models and territories. His responsibilities included developing PepsiCo MENA’s first eCommerce strategy across new business models and countries, expanding into new territories, developing partnerships, and strengthening Food Service and Away from Home channels.

His career at PepsiCo has also included leadership across snacks, beverages, and Quaker categories, giving him broad exposure to different parts of the food and beverage business.

From Operations to General Management

Karim’s PepsiCo career includes roles spanning supply chain, manufacturing, sales transformation, sales, and new business development. Prior to PepsiCo, he held senior positions with Cadbury and ExxonMobil, further broadening his experience across FMCG and energy.

This diverse foundation has shaped his ability to connect commercial priorities with operational execution and navigate complex, multicultural business environments.

Education and Leadership Development

Karim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial & Management Engineering from the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport. He also completed Executive Education in Creating & Implementing Strategy for Competitive Advantage at The Wharton School.
