Ahmed Al-Harbi’s professional journey began in the field, where he developed a strong technical foundation in wireline logging and formation evaluation with Schlumberger before joining Saudi Aramco.

Over more than a decade at Saudi Aramco, he progressed through increasingly senior technical and leadership roles spanning reservoir evaluation, petrophysics, unconventional gas development, enhanced oil recovery, and integrated reservoir studies. His experience included leading multidisciplinary teams responsible for reservoir modelling, field development planning, uncertainty analysis, and subsurface data integration for some of the industry’s most technically demanding projects.

These experiences provided not only technical depth but also a comprehensive understanding of how engineering, operational excellence, and strategic decision-making work together to support long-term energy development.

His academic background further complements this expertise, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals and a Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College London.
