Mohammed Alrumaih is the Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Exchange, bringing more than two decades of experience across capital markets, investment banking, banking, and strategic business development. His career reflects a steady progression from corporate banking and client relations to senior leadership at Saudi Exchange, where he has held a range of market-focused and executive positions.
Since April 2021, Alrumaih has served as Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Exchange, following a series of progressively senior roles within the organization. Before becoming CEO, he served as Chief of Markets from 2018 to 2021, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer from 2016 to 2018, and Head of Sales and Client Relations from 2015 to 2016.
His extensive experience within Saudi Exchange has given him a broad perspective across markets, client relationships, sales, marketing, and primary-market development.
Alrumaih played a significant role in establishing and developing Primary Market activities at Saudi Exchange. As Primary Market Manager, he was involved in setting up primary-market activities and business strategy, developing relationships with potential issuers, and identifying Saudi companies seeking to go public through the exchange.
His responsibilities also included promoting Saudi Exchange as a venue for liquidity for local and regional large corporations and supporting Saudi companies in financing projects and expansions through the issuance of Sukuk or bonds.
During this period, he managed a client base of more than 90 companies and worked closely with Authorized Persons (APs) to attract additional listings to Saudi Exchange. He also managed projects involving different levels of scope and complexity.
As part of his earlier Primary Market responsibilities, Alrumaih managed an event for Tadawul under the patronage of the CMA Chairman aimed at promoting the capital market to non-listed companies.
This work reflected a broader focus on strengthening relationships between companies and the capital market while encouraging potential issuers to consider the opportunities available through listing and capital-market financing.
Before joining Saudi Exchange, Alrumaih spent more than four years at Al-Rajhi Bank as Corporate Relations Manager from 2004 to 2009.
In this role, he managed more than 40 clients across different industries, overseeing a portfolio of approximately SAR 1 billion in assets. He prepared credit applications for presentation to different levels of committees and the bank board while developing extensive knowledge of Saudi companies.
His performance at Al-Rajhi Bank included achieving annual targets at an average of 300% of the overall target and recording the highest bank-wide performance in terms of fees earned from clients during the stated 2005–2008 period.
Alrumaih’s professional journey combines banking expertise with deep experience in Saudi capital markets. His responsibilities have covered corporate relationships, credit, primary-market development, sales, client relations, marketing, and market leadership.
This progression has enabled him to develop a multidimensional understanding of how companies, investors, financial institutions, and capital markets interact—experience that continues to inform his leadership at Saudi Exchange.
Alrumaih holds an MBA from Manchester Business School, completed between 2011 and 2013. He previously earned a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, where he studied from 1998 to 2004.
