Dr. Heba El Dessouky stands among these forward-thinking female leaders, bringing over 20 years of real-estate and management experience across leading local and international organizations.
Recognized as one of the Top 50 Most Influential Women in Egypt in 2022, Heba has built a career defined by innovation, leadership, and the development of some of the region’s most prominent luxury hospitality and real estate destinations.

Recently joined Mountain View Developments as Hospitality Innovation Director, Heba is leading strategic development of hospitality projects and international hotel collaborations within the company’s 20 years expanding portfolio.
Prior to this role, she held the position of Director of Hospitality Development at City Edge Developments, where she oversaw a diverse portfolio of global hotel brands across Egypt’s emerging investment destinations aligned with the country’s Vision 2030 development strategy.
During this period, she supervised hospitality portfolio of 1600 key and 500 branded residences in 4 major destinations projects involving internationally recognized hotel groups including Accor’s, Raffles Hotel in Egypt, Fairmont, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, and InterContinental Hotels Group. She set the processes for development, design management as well as procurement and handover strategies.
Her leadership in hospitality development has helped expand Egypt’s tourism infrastructure while ensuring world-class design, operational & cost efficiency, as well as exceptional guest experiences.

A defining chapter of Heba’s career was her 16-year tenure at Emaar Misr, one of the region’s most prominent real estate developers.
As Head of Interior Design and Director of Design Management, she led the design development of six landmark luxury communities across residential, commercial, and hospitality sectors.
Among the iconic projects fully developed during this period were the luxury lifestyle destinations Uptown Cairo, Marassi, Mivida, Cairo Gate and Soul & Belle Vie anchored by the iconic Al Alamein Hotel, Address Golf Hotel & various lifestyle boutique brands: Armani & Elie Saab.
Her leadership involved supervising large multidisciplinary teams while ensuring that design excellence, operational efficiency, and international standards remained central to every project.

Early in her professional journey, Heba played a pivotal role in building and launching interior architecture departments within several major consulting firms.
She contributed to establishing specialized design units at Dar Al Handasah and Engineering Consultants Group, helping strengthen their interior design capabilities and project delivery frameworks across airports, hotels and office buildings.
Her work during this period laid the groundwork for many of the leadership roles she would later assume within the region’s real estate and hospitality sectors.

Heba holds both her Master’s Degree and PhD in Interior Architecture in 2020 from Helwan University.
Her doctoral research focused on sustainable design and human-centered environments, with her dissertation titled:
“Setting an evaluation tool for lowering energy expenditure and increasing human well-being in the interior renovation process of office buildings in Egypt.”
This research reflects her belief that architecture and interior design must balance aesthetics, feasibility, and human well-being, ensuring that buildings not only perform efficiently with revenues, but also improve the quality of life for those who occupy them.

Beyond her corporate roles, Heba is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and design summits, where she shares insights on hospitality design development, interior architecture, and tackling energy-efficient design.
In addition, she was selected for the career advisory board of the Architecture Department at The American University in Cairo, helping guide academic perspectives on design education and industry collaboration.
Heba is also a certified Career Coach, ICF, mentoring professionals and supporting emerging female leaders at career summits.
Beyond her professional achievements, Heba values family and personal growth. As a wife and a mother of two children, she balances her leadership responsibilities with a strong commitment to mentorship, family, and personal development towards her work & family and personal development.
Her journey—from graduating in fine arts to becoming a hospitality development leader shaping international hotel portfolios—reflects resilience, creativity, and a deep passion for building environments that inspire people and communities.
