
Hossam E. Al Basrawi serves as Chief Executive Officer of Al Rajhi Capital, a position he has held since March 2025. His leadership journey with the organization began through his appointment to its Executive Committee in March 2023, providing him with a broader strategic perspective before assuming the CEO role.
Alongside his responsibilities at Al Rajhi Capital, Al Basrawi contributes to several boards and executive committees across Saudi Arabia’s financial and technology sectors. His current roles include Executive Committee Member at atmaal, Board Member at EMKAN, and Vice Chairman of neoleap.

Before becoming CEO of Al Rajhi Capital, Al Basrawi spent five years as General Manager – Corporate Banking at Al Rajhi Bank, from March 2020 to March 2025. The role built upon a career deeply rooted in corporate and institutional banking, relationship management, business development, and client coverage.
Earlier, he spent more than 15 years with Banque Saudi Fransi, progressing through increasingly senior leadership positions. As Corporate Banking Group Country Head from 2018 to 2020, he headed the wholesale business covering institutional, corporate, and MSME clients.
Previously, as Regional Corporate Banking Group Head in Jeddah, he led regional corporate banking activities. His responsibilities also included business development and clientele coverage, cluster coverage, and senior banking responsibilities for segmented clients.
His progression at Banque Saudi Fransi began in 2004 as Assistant Regional General Manager/Team Leader within the Corporate Banking Group, demonstrating a long-term career trajectory through the banking sector.
Al Basrawi’s early career provided broad exposure to corporate banking and credit management. At Samba Financial Group, he served as Senior Manager within the Corporate & Investment Banking Group, while his earlier position at Saudi Investment Bank focused on marketing and developing new corporate clients.
His career began in 1996 at Saudi Hollandi Bank, where he worked in remedial banking before progressing to Relationship Manager. His responsibilities included managing special-attention credits and one of the region’s largest corporate portfolios.
This foundation in credit, corporate relationships, and financial management has remained central to his professional development and subsequent executive responsibilities.
Beyond his executive responsibilities, Al Basrawi has developed significant governance experience through board and committee positions. His previous appointments include Board Member at alrajhi bank Malaysia and Board Member and Executive Committee Member at Saudi Fransi Financing and Leasing.
These roles complement his executive banking experience with exposure to organizational governance, strategic oversight, and financial-services leadership.
Al Basrawi further strengthened his financial and leadership expertise through executive education at leading international institutions. He completed Finance and Financial Management Services at Harvard Business School in 2016 and participated in the Leadership Program at INSEAD.
His professional capabilities include banking, financial analysis, and cross-selling, supported by professional fluency in English and native or bilingual proficiency in Arabic.
