Across the Middle East, digital transformation has become a defining priority for organisations seeking to strengthen competitiveness, improve operational resilience, and deliver greater value to customers. Yet technology alone does not create transformation. Sustainable progress depends on leaders who can align innovation with business strategy, modernise complex technology environments, and build organisations capable of adapting to continuous change. Abdullah Al-Ghubain has built his career around delivering that transformation.
As Executive Head of the Executive Delivery Office at solutions by stc, Al-Ghubain leads strategic technology delivery across one of Saudi Arabia’s leading digital enablement companies. His leadership combines enterprise technology, operational execution, architecture, and innovation, helping organisations translate ambitious digital strategies into measurable business outcomes.
Digital transformation succeeds when technology becomes an enabler of organisational performance rather than an objective in itself.
Throughout his career, Al-Ghubain has focused on designing and delivering enterprise solutions that improve operational efficiency, strengthen service delivery, and support long-term business growth. His approach reflects an understanding that successful transformation requires strong governance, disciplined execution, and close alignment between technology and organisational priorities.
“Technology delivers its greatest value when it enables organisations to innovate with confidence and execute with precision.”
One of the defining aspects of Al-Ghubain’s leadership journey has been his progression through increasingly strategic technology leadership roles at solutions by stc.
Since joining the organisation in 2017, he has advanced from engineering and integration leadership to managing enterprise technology, innovation, managed services, and ultimately the Executive Delivery Office. This progression has provided him with broad oversight across technology strategy, digital platforms, enterprise architecture, and large-scale programme execution, enabling him to lead complex initiatives that support business transformation across multiple sectors.
His leadership reflects a commitment to building technology capabilities that remain scalable, resilient, and aligned with evolving business needs.
Before joining solutions by stc, Al-Ghubain developed valuable experience within the banking and public sectors.
At Alawwal Bank, he progressed through several information technology leadership roles, contributing to enterprise systems, operational improvements, and technology delivery within the financial services industry. Earlier, at the Ministry of Water and Electricity, he supported the development of government resource planning and information management systems, strengthening his understanding of digital transformation within public institutions.
Working across government, banking, and technology services has given him a comprehensive perspective on how digital capabilities can support organisational performance in diverse environments.
Throughout his executive journey, Al-Ghubain has consistently focused on combining technical expertise with strategic leadership.
His work extends beyond infrastructure and systems implementation to encompass organisational collaboration, programme governance, enterprise integration, and operational excellence. By aligning technology investments with broader business objectives, he continues to help organisations strengthen performance while preparing for future opportunities.
His leadership continues to focus on:
Together, these priorities demonstrate a leadership philosophy centred on creating sustainable value through technology and disciplined execution.
Alongside his executive responsibilities, Al-Ghubain has remained committed to continuous learning and professional development.
His academic background in Computer and Information Systems, executive education in Digital Density and Leadership at IESE Business School, and TOGAF® 9 certification reflect a commitment to strengthening both technical expertise and strategic leadership capabilities.
“Leadership in technology is not defined by the systems implemented, but by the lasting capability those systems create for organisations and the people they serve.”
The Arab CEOs proudly recognises Abdullah Al-Ghubain for his contributions to enterprise technology, digital transformation, and executive leadership. Through his work across telecommunications, financial services, and the public sector, he continues to demonstrate how strategic technology leadership, operational discipline, and innovation can strengthen organisations, accelerate digital transformation, and contribute to Saudi Arabia’s evolving digital economy.
